NIFTS is an award winning Film School based at SERC's Bangor Campus.  The HNC in Creative Media Production is delivered over 2 full days a week, allowing students to balance work and home life commitments as well as the potential to work in industry part-time alongside their studies.  It attracts a wide range of applicants from school leavers to mature career changers and is delivered by a teaching team consisting of industry professionals using industry standard kit.  Most applicants are eligible for full funding.

Units include Scriptwriting, Cinematography Camera, Editing Techniques, Fiction Production, Documentary, Music Video, Producing and Directing.  They are delivered using a blended learning approach that includes lectures, studio workshops, industry speakers and production residentials.  On completion of the HNC year, there is the potential to progress to the HND 2nd Year.

NIFTS has recently partnered with Edinburgh Napier University to allow HND graduates to gain direct entry into the 3rd Year of their award winning BA Hons in Television Production (coupled with the 2 years at NIFTS, this can result in a half-price degree from a UK Top10 University).  Alternatively, graduates have gained direct entry into industry in junior roles such as Runner, Trainee Camera and Production Assistant or entered NI Screen's prestigious Aim High Scheme.  NIFTS graduates can now be found working in the film and television industry across the UK.
