We are delighted to be hosting BBC Radio Ulster’s Vinny and Cate Show which will be broadcast from SERC’s College Kitchen at Downpatrick Campus on Wednesday 22 May - on air from 6.00pm – 7.30pm.
The outside broadcast is part of the BBC NI’s Comes to Town 100th anniversary celebrations, when a variety of shows will be broadcast from different locations and this time it’s Downpatrick. The Vinny and Cate Show will include a flavour of the SERC community and activity in the Downpatrick Campus.
If you would like to be in the audience, come along to the College Kitchen (entrance from Market Street) to be part of the live broadcast of this popular magazine style show. You are guaranteed ‘some me time at teatime’ with Vinny Hurrell and Cate Conway - music to ease you into your evening, fun features, and celebrity interviews – we can’t say too much, but at least one of the guests (and presenters) are former students of the legacy SERC! Some of our own students and staff will be taking part to talk about life at SERC.
The recording is open to the public and, although you can drop in and out, we would like to have audience in place by 5.45pm – don’t forget, entrance to College Kitchen will be via Market Street only.
BBC Radio Ulster’s programming for 22 May will come from or include a focus on Downpatrick. We are thrilled that two Downpatrick Campus students, 17-year-olds, Matthew Brennan (Annacloy) and Preston Galbraith- Kelly (Downpatrick), from the Level 3 Mechatronic Engineering course at Downpatrick Campus, will be talking to Chris Buckler on Good Morning Ulster (anytime between 6.30am and 9.00am) about their enterprising anti-drink spiking innovation which has secured £1,000 from the SEED 2030 Micro Grants Programme developed by One Young World and Unloc – so be sure to tune in to hear Matthew and Preston.
Main Picture: Vinny Hurrell and Cate Conway will be broadcasting their show from SERC’s College Kitchen on Wednesday 22 May.
