Queen's University Belfast School of Maths and Physics are hosting a photography competition sponsored by the Institute of Physics and open to everyone in Ireland and Northern Ireland - the hope is that the competition encourages as many people as possible to look at the science and technology in their daily lives and share it.
Your image can focus on any aspect of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). For example, the technology in your phone or TV, the changing colour of the autumn leaves, the incredible cranes around Belfast, science projects - science in the workplace explore the world around you and share it .
Both the image and description (< 250 words) should be created by you and not copied from another source. The winning entries will be chosen based on both the eye-catching nature of the image and the clarity and passion of your explanation of the STEM background behind the image.
A panel of QUB researchers will review all entries and will choose a 1st and 2nd prize for each age group category as well as for 5 runners up. The results will be announced on 30th September 2021. Certificates will be sent to the prize winners and notable entries recognising their contributions.
This is a great opportunity to celebrate your creativity and various skills, the deadline for submission is the 15 September. To submit and entry click here. For more information visit STEM Photography Competition 2021 or contact M&P Outreach mp.outreach@qub.ac.uk.
