The SERC community is delighted to welcome new students and staff as the autumn term begins, and we are looking forward to more face-to-face learning in this academic year.

SERC’s priority is, as ever, enabling students to engage fully in their education, whilst ensuring a safe learning environment.  There are safety measures in place on all campuses for the benefit of students, staff and visitors and these have been updated for the new term.

Access to a campus is through a dedicated entrance where temperature checks are carried out,  but the one-way systems created last year are no longer in place. It is still imperative that everyone wears a mask unless medically exempt, and that social distancing of two metres is observed. There are very specific situations where the two-metre rule does not apply, and in these cases additional PPE is worn.  Hand sanitiser is widely available and everyone is encouraged to use it, or wash their hands, frequently.

Catering facilities are now open and using track and trace records for any customers sitting in.

The SERC Students’ Union is very much looking forward to hosting Freshers’ Weeks on campus again; you can find out more here.

Anyone attending college in person is urged to take a lateral flow test regularly, and kits for these tests are available free on campuses.
