Clearing Day at SERC - Don’t miss out on progressing to Higher Education this year

SERC is hosting a Clearing Day to facilitate students who may feel they are about to miss out on progressing to Higher Education this year. Students can call into the College’s Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn or Newtownards Campuses on Wednesday 28 August from 10.00am to 2.00pm and, subject to meeting entry requirements, can enrol on the day.

Ken Webb, Principal and Chief Executive of SERC said, “We have a number of places available on some of our higher-level courses which will allow students who have not yet taken up a place on a higher-level course to progress this academic year.

“Following receipt of results, students are faced with making final decisions about where and which course to study. They may have done better or not as well as expected, or their circumstances may have changed since applying.  Whatever the situation, we are reminding students that they can still apply for higher education courses at SERC.

He added, “We offer competitive fees, smaller classes and the opportunity to study close to home here in Northern Ireland. Our local campuses are located close to transport links and students can apply for Maintenance Grants as well as enjoy the full benefits of SERC’s Students’ Union including the NUS student discount card.

“I encourage students to come along to our clearing day, where they can talk to lecturers, careers advisors and student finance about options open to them at SERC.”
