Tune in to cheer on SERC’s own Curtis Johnston and #TeamUK at WorldSkills 2019

The UK’s best and brightest young skilled apprentices and students have been selected to represent all four nations in Team UK at the ‘Skills Olympics’ in Kazan, Russia from Thursday August 22 – Tuesday August 27.

Hillsborough man Curtis Johnston, 21, from SERC, has been selected for TeamUK after wowing the judges with his impressive plastering skills. 

For the first time in the 66-year history of the WorldSkills Competition, the spectacular Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be broadcast live on TV in the UK.  Tune into Showcase TV (Sky 192, Freesat 161) on:

  • 22 August (5:00pm, BST) to catch the excitement of the Opening Ceremony
  • 27 August (5:00pm BST) to join in the celebrations from the Closing Ceremony. 

To catch all the drama straight from the Competition Floor, follow WorldSkills UK twitter feed and YouTube channel from 4:00pm (BST) each day where they will be joined by members of Team UK and their supporters.
