SERC alumnus Blaine McKeown returned to SERC’s Lisburn Campus to give a demonstration to current Level 2 and Level 3 students.

Blaine, from Lisburn, beat rivals from across the UK to come third at the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) UK Championships in May this year.

The young man, who works at barbering salon Ats Us Nai in Lisburn, was accompanied by salon co-ordinator, Gary O’Neill. Blaine gave a lively demonstration to students on the latest barbering techniques and bang-on trends, including cat scratches.   He also spoke about and demonstrated the latest hair products.

Hairdressing and Barbering lecturer, Sarah-June Robinson, said, “It is great to see how Blaine’s creativity has developed.  His demonstration was very engaging. I hope to see him work on stage with a top brand, demonstrating his talents and teaching new young barbers all his great skills.”
