Hospitality & Tourism Students Baked goods for coffee morning sale

SERC students put on a showstopper coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and raised a whopping £278.

The students, from the Level 2 Traineeship in Professional Bakery and the Level 2 Traineeship in Hospitality and Tourism, produced a range of mouth-watering treats and served them up in The Birches Restaurant at the College’s Bangor Campus, as part of the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning.

Paul Monaghan, Lecturer in Hospitality & Catering said, “The students put on an amazing selection of bakes and treats which included almond cherry slices, chocolate cake, scones and chocolate brownies, which were all freshly baked to perfection.”

Sheena Hunt, Lecturer in Hospitality said, “This was the first sit-in service with customers at The Birches Restaurant this year, and the first time for many of the students to take orders, as well as serve and speak to customers.  They worked really well with each other as a team, and with the bakery students who had baked the delicious treats."

Well done to Level 2 Traineeship in Professional Bakery students: Robbie Ross, Theo Gilmore, Duncan McKee, Madison Gordon, Jaxx Crowe, Ethan Lynn, Sarah Greer, Brooke Douglas, Jake Pattison, Connie Legge, Finlay Coffey, Rebekah Moore, AJ Hughes; and to the front of house team from the Level 2 Traineeship in Hospitality and Tourism: Anna Jordan, Rory Campbell. Aimee McVeigh, Maddie Anderson, Chloe Luxton, Faith Gregory, Lucy Brown, Jamie Simpson, Beth Thomas and Lily Russell Patterson.
