SERC staff and students are gearing up to welcome potential students and their parents/guardians to the College’s Full-time Open Evening from 4pm – 7pm on Thursday 6 March at SERC’s Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards Campuses.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet tutors and to explore the range of full-time courses available, as well as viewing the facilities and watching live demonstrations of SERC’s professional standard equipment. Current students will be on hand to chat about college life, and our award-winning accredited careers team will be on campus to give an overview of the opportunities and career paths available to applicants.
Anna Clarke (pictured above), now studying a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art and Design at SERC, says visiting the open evening at SERC Lisburn Campus helped her decide on her educational pathway:
“I found the atmosphere very welcoming. I just loved the environment and after meeting the tutors, who are so knowledgeable, I already felt connected to the college and the subject. I love the facilities, too – they provide you will everything you need.”
Heather McKee, Deputy Principal, Planning, Performance and Engagement, says,
“As young people are preparing to progress after their GCSEs or A-Levels, we want to invite them and their families on to campus, to explore real learning for real life at SERC.
“Visitors will be able to find out more about our full-time courses, including traineeships and apprenticeship programmes. You’ll see the state-of-the-art facilities provided for skills areas including Animal Care, Barbering and Hairdressing, Computing, Engineering, Health and Care, Construction skills, Sport, and Vehicle Maintenance and Repair among many others.
“We can talk you through the applications and admissions process, and also help you look at your goals and how to achieve them through a course at SERC.”
SERC’s support services, pastoral care, and Students’ Union teams will be there to ensure you are fully aware of all support available for each and every student, to help overcome any barriers to achievement.
