Time to Talk Day is a college wide initiative to remind students that a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference. We also want to make sure that all students have the contact details for those who can provide help, counselling and support. These services are available all day every day should they or a friend need it.

SERC’s Students’ Union and Enterprise Team will be hosting events both online and at our Lisburn campus for Time to Talk Day- an annual national day devoted to talking about mental health.

On Thursday 3 February there will be a wellbeing information stand for staff and students in the reception area of the Lisburn campus from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. It is a great opportunity to chat to the Student Engagement team, pick up some tips and information for looking after your own wellbeing and get some freebies.

There will also be a Time to Talk Walk from 1:00 pm to 1:30pm on Thursday 3 February. The half hour walk could not only benefit you but also someone else in need of your encouragement to talk about mental health. There will be conversation starter cards to help you get the conversation going.

Anyone interested in taking part is asked to meet at the Lisburn reception at 12:50pm. You’ll then begin your walk to Castle Gardens where everyone will walk in small groups.

There will be an online tea break quiz on Friday 4 February at 11:00am through Microsoft Teams. The Enterprise team will be hosting and challenging you to think about mental health as part of Time to Talk Day. All staff and students are welcome to play and there will be goodie bags for the top three players.
