South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is recruiting students for a fully funded intensive programme aimed at reskilling furloughed employees or those whose current roles may be at risk of redundancy.
The Skills Intervention Programme, funded by the Department for Economy, offers the opportunity for candidates to gain recognised qualifications in hospitality, customer service, training and digital Skills. The courses, set to commence from 24 September for up to 8 weeks, are subject to specific eligibility criteria.
Debbie Scott, Branch Manager at SERC said, “COVID-19 has presented many challenges to the business community and it is vital those employees who have been furloughed or who are at risk of redundancy are supported.
She added, “The Skills Intervention Programme, delivered online by SERC, focuses on upskilling and reskilling in key areas of hospitality, customer service, training and digital skills programmes. Candidates are offered C & G Level 2 Award in Customer Service in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel & Tourism; RSPH Level 2 in Food Hygiene; OCN Level 3 Train the Trainer; ILM Level 2 Award in Team Skills; and OCN Award in Social Media.
She concluded, “This fully-funded vocational training will help prepare candidates for the return to their current employment or facilitate a move to new employment – both options are necessary to rebuild the Northern Ireland economy.”
Places are limited. Interest candidates should send an expression of interest, stating the course they are interested in, including their telephone number, to Debbie Scott by email at: DScott@serc.ac.uk
