Professional Chef students Chyna Lavery and Terri Laffin at Downpatrick Christmas markets.

This week, SERC were delighted to host the annual Christmas markets across Bangor, Newtownards, Lisburn and Downpatrick campuses; welcoming hundreds of staff and students who came together to deck the halls and spread some festive cheer.

Visitors were spoilt for choice from the exciting range of products on offer, including artwork, jewellery, beauty items, wax melts, Christmas crafts and decorations, and delicious Christmas treats; all hand crafted by our talented enterprise companies, staff and students.

Megan Rollins, Senior Innovation Advisor commented:

“The Christmas markets are just one way we encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship at SERC, giving students the opportunity to sell their goods and services to other students, staff and the public. It is a great opportunity for students to build enterprising mindsets, to develop entrepreneurial and transversal skills, as well as to engage with customers and other business owners, all whilst having fun! The markets this year were a roaring success, and it was amazing to see the display of talent, creativity and skill of the students. A huge effort went into creating festive products and showcasing them at the markets - a big thank-you to all that contributed and attended.”
