South Eastern Regional College (SERC) has recently been accredited as an Open Centre for Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing which means that young people from Northern Ireland will not have to travel to the mainland for assessments required by prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge.

Claire Henderson, Head of International, Quality, Excellence & Development at SERC said, “We are delighted to be able to offer people the opportunity to sit a number of assessment tests, necessary for entrance to prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge, here at SERC’s Lisburn Campus”.

She added, “Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 many assessment centres have been unable to offer the assessments in 2020, but at SERC we have the necessary facilities and procedures in place to help keep candidates and staff safe.

“The tests include University of Cambridge Pre-interview Assessments, University of Oxford Admissions Tests, as well as Admissions Test for BioMedical (BMAT), English Language (ELAT) Mathematics (MAT), Sixth Term  Examination Paper  (STEP) and the Test of Mathematics for University Admissions (TMUA).   Registration for the tests must be completed by Thursday 15 October for those wishing to sit tests scheduled for 4th and 5th November 2020.”

For several years,  SERC have been successfully offering the International English Language Test System (IELTS), a  high stake English Language and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), a standard test for college admissions in the United States,  helping people evidence their abilities and therefore secure employment positions and university places.
