Ross Harvey Honoured for Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry

At a ceremony in London yesterday (Tuesday 14 November), SERC Fire and Security lecturer Ross Harvey was awarded the industry’s most prestigious honour, the David Clark Award for exceptional contribution to the profession.  

The award, named after former chair of industry body, the Security Commonwealth,  was presented at an event organised by The UK Security Commonwealth and the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO).

The accolade recognises Ross’ significant contributions to the security sector and underscores a career dedicated to excellence, leadership, and the advancement of industry standards. Ross's citation said that his work has not only safeguarded assets and people, but also fostered a spirit of integrity and professionalism that is the hallmark of the David Clark Award.

Commenting on the award, Gary Thomas, a Chartered Security Professional, said  "Ross' achievement not only reflects individual excellence but also underscores the collaborative ethos that is vital to our industry."

Joe Connell former Chair of the Association of Security Consultants added: 

“Ross stands as a testament to the dedication and innovation that David Clark championed throughout his life. This award is a tribute to those who lead by example and drive our industry forward,"

Ross expressed his gratitude for the honour, saying, “To be recognised in such a manner, and in front of my peers, is incredibly humbling. It reaffirms my commitment to uphold the high standards and values that are synonymous with David Clark’s enduring legacy.”
