Reminder: Email Security

In light of the recent HIA Data Breach which was reported in the news at the weekend, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our obligations to protect data and the privacy of others when sending emails.
The data breach is reported as being the result of a newsletter being issued to 250 people without their email addresses being protected.
When sending emails, we must be conscious what we are sending and who else will see the content. You must BCC email addresses when sending the following:
- An email to a group of personal email addresses
- An email of a sensitive nature to a bespoke group of SERC email addresses e.g. newsletters, learning support information, fees issues.
