SERC Learning and Resource Centres (LRC) and The School of Performing and Creative Arts are proud to announce a new Art Gallery to showcase student work in Bangor LRC.
David Greer, LRC Manager said “Earlier this academic year, the LRC team launched a Book Club - to encourage reading for pleasure and to attract more students and staff to the LRCs. This term we are delighted to launch an art initiative to showcase student ‘s artwork in a mini gallery style area of the LRC. We also have plans to showcase student artwork in Downpatrick LRC. The addition of these creative spaces in Bangor and Downpatrick will complement the artworks from the Wallace Collection on loan from Lisburn Museum currently on display in Lisburn LRC.”
Ann Harrison, Lecturer in Art Design, said, “I encourage all students and staff - and any teams with visitors to the College – to come along and explore the vibrant world of digital art at Bangor LRC, where our talented Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art & Design (Graphic Design & Illustration) students will be showcasing their captivating exhibition titled Pixel Power."
She added, “Be inspired by our innovative tee-shirt designs, and engaging record covers, all of which are designed by our students. The students on this course develop cutting-edge digital art skills, tackling real-world graphic design projects with creativity and flair.”
Students and staff are encouraged to visit Bangor LRC to both view the outstanding artwork in the new gallery space and avail of the Book Club initiative - simply take a book to read at your leisure, leave back when you are finished, and if you have a book to pass on, just drop it in for others to enjoy.
