SERC Level 2 Traineeship Hair and Media Make-Up students from the Lisburn and Bangor campuses recently showcased their skills in an intercampus competition at the College’s Lisburn Revive Salon.
Working within the theme of ‘The Future is Bright’, students were assessed on their overall created looks and awarded points for make-up, hair, costume, and creativity. The competition was judged by industry experts including Lesley Stitt, Educator for OSMO Hair Products, and Sunita Shaw, a past SERC hairdressing student who now works as a Make-up Artist in the film industry.
First place went to Cassidy Mccabe-Clarke (20), from Newtownards, with Lucy Clarke (17), from Newtownards coming in second place and Georgia Latham (17), from Donaghadee in third place. All students were from SERC Bangor campus. Each student won a goodie bag courtesy of OSMO Hair Products as well as Amazon gift vouchers.
Lynn Rainey, Hair and Media Make-Up Lecturer at SERC’s Lisburn Campus said, “It was a very tight competition; the top four students from Lisburn and Bangor campuses previously completed campus heats to enter this stage of the competition, so an extremely high standard of work was on display from all participants. I would like to commend everyone who took part and congratulate those who were placed in what was a very exciting competition.”
