Glanbia Cheese upskill thanks to partnership with SERC

Driving efficiencies is always high on the agenda of today’s manufacturing companies. Craigavon based manufacturer Glanbia Cheese Ltd have collaborated with SERC to create a specialist training partnership designed to boost operational efficiency; and they expect to see great results.
The bespoke, industry-focused training programme was designed to meet the increasing demand for highly skilled engineers working within the manufacturing engineering sector and equip them with the latest skills base to increase efficiency. The course upskilled four engineers from mechanical to electrical engineering.

SERC Industrial Training Manager Brendan Merrigan explains: “With the emergence and adoption of more sophisticated manufacturing technologies, engineers must keep abreast of the latest technologies so that they remain relevant in their jobs and advance in their careers. Participants on the course trained at the Colleges Lisburn Campus, equipped with state-of-the-art mechatronics technology. The hands-on training uses ISO industry standard equipment and focuses on the multi disciplines of today’s fast moving mechatronics world. The course was specifically designed for up-skilling engineers to help increase efficiency by reducing cost, minimising waste and improving productivity.
This training partnership is the latest development by SERC to create the highest quality training environment for local business.
