Final themed market of the academic year.
The final themed markets of the academic year took place this week – just in time to stock up before the Easter break.
It was great to see so many students setting up shop and to see some new enterprises such as Mourne Clay Collective, who popped up at both Downpatrick and Lisburn markets with their variety of designs, and Light of Ages at Lisburn with bang on-trend handmade bees’ wax candles.
In Newtownards he Foundation Learning students were fundraising for three charities – National Autistic Society, Oxfam and Adoption UK – with a spring-themed raffle, tombola and plant sales, and the culinary arts student enterprises delivered wonderful treats, as usual – with delicious shortbread, hot cross buns, fifteens (which really should be renamed forty-fives they were so generous!) and melt in the mouth brownies selling out across all campuses.
Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you to everyone who supported the students – even a small sale and a quick chat can make all the difference.
If you feel inspired to get crafting or making, or have the inkling of an idea for an enterprise, why not have a chat with the Enterprise & Entrepreneurship team in preparation for our Halloween Markets in October?
