Applications are now open for South Eastern Regional College’s (SERC’s) Full-Time Further Education, Apprenticeship and Traineeship courses that start this September.

If you’re looking for the right path after GCSEs, SERC delivers Further Education courses across a wide variety of subjects including vocational training, A-Levels and essential skills. You can also pursue a traineeship or earn while you learn on an apprenticeship. All these options can lead to employment or further study, with progression paths at SERC taking you to degree level and beyond.

SERC has everything in place to unlock the door to a brilliant future:

  • Opportunities to study in a range of curriculum areas covering both vocational and professional skills
  • Support from SERC’s qualified tutors who have substantial industry experience, have won several UK teaching awards and who maintain productive links with employers
  • State-of-the-art facilities that support practical learning in workshops, kitchens, salons, IT suites, studios, gyms, laboratories and performance spaces
  • Project-based learning where you apply theory to practical tasks and address real-world challenges
  • Opportunities to demonstrate your skills in prestigious competitions
  • Placements in industry and business, including the opportunity to travel abroad for work experience to develop new professional skills
  • An excellent student support system, including the college’s award-winning careers advisory service, learning support, pastoral care, student finance advisors and the active Students’ Union

Harvey Neale, who is studying for a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art and Design at SERC, says “I’d recommend SERC; everyone I know that’s done a course here has had a good experience. I know a lot of people that stayed on at school to do A-Levels and then came to SERC to study after to get extra qualifications, which shows how beneficial SERC is.”

His enthusiasm is echoed by Natasha Kennedy, pursuing a Level 2 Traineeship in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: “SERC is not like high school at all. I really enjoy how hands-on the course is. The teachers are very helpful, and the campuses have a very nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend SERC to anyone.”

Applications to SERC are via our website and you can have up to three live applications at a time.

Come and view our facilities and talk to our staff at our open evening on Thursday 7 March from 4-7 pm.
