Enterprise Challenge 2021

With the PBL expos next week, the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship team wanted to share some tips and tricks on how to perfect your pitch for the judges. Finalists from each campus will be chosen and asked to attend the Dragons Den Final on Wednesday 6th October in our Bangor campus and be in with the chance of winning iPads, speakers, Bluetooth earphones and much more!

To be in with a chance of becoming a finalist and winning one of our AMAZING prizes, have a look at the tips below:

A 60 second elevator pitch is a quick way to introduce your PBL project. It will explain your idea quickly and clearly to spark interest in who you are and what you do.

Step 1 Start off with a quick intro. Your name, project name, year in college and course.

Step 2 mention the challenge / need you have identified. Be creative- aim to make an impact and grab the judge’s attention or teach them something they wouldn’t know.

Step 3 Then explain how you are going to solve this challenge / meet the need. Briefly describe your solution- the resources required- and how your product or service works.

Step 4 Finally, mention how your project is unique and innovative- what makes your project stand out?

Step 5 And there you have it, your 60 second elevator pitch! Create one and you’ll be able to wow the judges with confidence.

Remember

Do

  • Use a prototype / sketch up this is essential
  • Use visuals
  • Keep it concise and interesting
  • Be positive & persuasive
  • Practice, practice, practice

Don't

  • Judges don’t want to just see posters and PowerPoints
  • Don’t speak too fast
  • Avoid rambling
  • Don’t worry the enterprise team are here to help you
  • So, what’s your pitch?
