Two hundred staff attended this year’s Corporate Staff Development Day themed ‘ADAPT – Developing Skills for a Changing World’, across SERC Lisburn and Bangor campuses.
The Learning Academy, along with Pedagogy Mentors (Kenny McDowell, Bennett Chandran, Mike Holmes, Gillian Auld & Mary Gillies), Maureen McKay (Wellbeing) and fellow SERC colleagues (Natasha Lloyd, Lizzie Buick, Zachary Duckworth, Tracey Davies & Linda Martin), delivered sessions over 3 Strands, focusing on skills and strategies to help staff manage change.
A wide variety of sessions were offered including ‘Introduction to AI’, ‘Working Smarter, not Harder (AI Digital Tools)’ and ‘Stretch, Tone & Relax’ being the most popular session picks for staff. Some other highly rated sessions included ‘Time Management; Tips & Technology’, ‘Accessibility’, and ‘Digital Wellbeing’.
Lunch was provided to participating staff courtesy of SERC’s catering team and was enjoyed by all., Staff also had the opportunity to win a Lunch Voucher for the College Kitchen by taking part in a ‘QR Challenge’ on the days – the winners were Kelly Donnelly at the Lisburn event and Olive Watson at the Bangor event.
