This session, designed for staff aged 50 or over, will help advise you on how much money you will need for retirement, as well as help you understand your pension and the legal issues to consider in later life. 

The session will cover: 

  • How much money you need in your retirement.  
  • Understanding types of pensions. 
  • Your state pension – how many years contribution you need, how to access what your state pension is worth and the impact of opting out of the state pension. 
  • Tax rates and the impact on drawing down a pension. 
  • Loans and interest rates. 
  • Budget planning and Debt/APR rates. 
  • Legal issues to consider in later life – Enduring Power of Attorney, Will and Living Will (End of Life Will). 

When: Tuesday 25th January 2024 at 2.15 pm to 3.15 pm in SERC Bangor Campus, rooms TBC.

If you are aged 50 or over and wish to attend a session, email mindyourself@serc.ac.uk stating which session you would like to attend. You will be emailed about the room location once rooms have been finalised.
