A Level students at SERC’s Bangor Campus have been creating and distributing tailored gift bags and parcels for local charities, as well as individuals living in the Bangor community.
The students have been collecting donations from fellow students and staff which included toiletries, books, sweets and chocolates, selection boxes, jams, chutneys, Christmas crackers, toys, festive food and hats, scarves and gloves.
The gifts are being tailored for recipients, with packages designed for families, women, teenagers and children going to Women’s Aid and YMCA, and packages designed for older men and women going to AGENDA (AGE North Down and Ards). Gifts are also being prepared for people who live on their own within the local Bangor community.
Amy Rafferty, SERC A Level lecturer said, “We are delighted to work again alongside these charities that do so much for the community. Our students would like to thank everyone who has contributed so generously to the gift drive this year.’’
