Valentines Day Fair Bangor

The Fairs were hosted by SERC’s enterprise team across Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards campuses. The stalls allowed enterprise students the opportunity to develop and enhance their enterprise skills, by setting up a stall to sell their own specially created products and services to those looking to buy something special for a Valentine's Day gift.

Gifts available for purchase included homemade jewellery, valentine's chocolates and baked goods, ceramics, knitted clothing and much more.

Megan Rollins, SERC Senior Innovation Advisor, commented, “We had a great turnout at the Valentine’s Fairs which gave students and staff the opportunity to showcase their enterprising and entrepreneurial qualities. Having the Fairs back on campus creates such a buzz and is an ideal way to raise awareness of student companies at SERC.

“Students gain real life experience in creating products, working out costings and pricing, marketing their business and dealing with customers face to face. There is also the bonus of bringing entrepreneurs/like-minded people together in one space which allows for great networking and collaboration opportunities between sellers. The Fairs are a great way for students to develop key transversal skills which will help them prepare for the world of work or self-employment.”

Keep an eye out for the next markets taking place at Easter, dates to be confirmed.
