What we do

Lydia Bell is a talented artist working in a range of mediums. She has recently moved away from her realist, fine-detail paintings and drawings to a more expressionistic style which incorporates unusual colour and texture. To date, she has completed 25 commissions and, in May 2020, she launched a virtual exhibition of her recent series of work entitled, 'Matter of Heart.' To view the exhibition, click here using the CHROME web browser. Press the play button on entering to be taken on the gallery tour.

You can also see Lydia's most recent work on her Facebook page.

Matter of Heart Exhibition Synopsis

‘Matter of Heart’ takes the viewer on the journey of experimentation that artist, Lydia Bell, travelled in painting her own farm animals and those of her neighbours. Her interesting use of colour and texture, as well as her loose painting style, invite the viewer to see the animals through her eyes. A farmer herself, Lydia was eager to capture the respect she has for her livestock and the importance of animal welfare in farming.
