Student companies provide opportunities to apply vocational skills in a business environment. Students learn about their business strengths and their skills gaps.

A team of young entrepreneurs from SERC have won the final of the colleges 2017 Enterprise Challenge. The competition was sponsored by Ards and North Down Borough Council and Translink.

Maker Space rooms with creative equipment including 3D printers and design software are available for all students to use.
Students from a range of curriculum areas can learn from each other and help each other to design and develop innovative solutions which can turn into business ideas.
A SERC student company ANCPOS, is a group of entrepreneurial Engineering Apprentices who developed an idea for a digital control panel which would operate a fishing trawler winch.
ANCPOS received technical support from engineering lecturers and business support from the University of the Third Age (U3A).
They are currently working with external bodies to secure further development funding.
