Welcome Evening for Ukrainian Students and Refugees

SERC is hosting a welcome evening for Ukrainian students and refugees from 5.00pm – 7.00pm this Thursday 6 October at the College’s SPACE Theatre, Castle Park Avenue, Bangor.

Tessa Barrett, Deputy Head of School of Hospitality, Management, Tourism and Languages said, “We are looking forward to hosting our welcome evening for people from Ukraine who are now part of the SERC community, living in the local area or studying in our Bangor, Lisburn or Downpatrick Campuses."

She added, “We can only imagine what it is like to uproot and flee thousands of miles away from our home to seek refuge in another country. Our event is a gesture to welcome Ukrainians to the local area and we hope the event will allow people to make connections and experience some of Northern Ireland’s famous hospitality."

Tessa continued, “There will be a buffet, followed by music from local musicians Ards CCE, Celtic Storm, the McClean family from Bangor and Ukrainian guitarist, Volodymyr Herasymovych.
