A Raspberry Jam is an event for kids/adults of all ages to come together and learn a bit more about the Raspberry Pi and coding/electronics in general. Whether you want to try out computer programming for the first time, hack some electronics or just generally have some fun inventing, we have something for everyone! No equipment is required, all of the software you will be using is free, and there are activities for all ages, from complete beginners right up to seasoned Pi experts. In celebration of the Chinese New Year, London Hackney Chinese Community School brings to you an afternoon of fun and ancient Chinese culture, by giving you hands-on experience of Chinese calligraphy and paper-cutting. The arts of Chinese calligraphy is the writing of Chinese characters (over 6000 years of history!) as an art form, combining visual art and interpretation of the literary meaning. Chinese Paper Cutting has over 2000 years of history, papercuts symbolizes luck and happiness. Espionage history and fiction in the heart of London. From the Cambridge Spies to George Smiley and James Bond on this Virtual Tour. St James’s and Mayfair were at the heart of London’s murky world of espionage. This tour explores the area as it was from the beginning of the 20th Century to the 1960s. The tour looks at the origins of the Secret Service Bureau in 1909, the clubs that were at the heart of the intelligence recruiting and networking, the buildings, both vanished and surviving, which gave birth to some of the most remarkable operations ever devised, and which housed both dedicated officers and remarkable traitors. Click here for more information.
