Thursday 6 February is Time to Talk Day – a day when everyone is encouraged to have a conversation about mental health.

At SERC we know that it benefits all of us to talk about mental health.

Time to Talk Day is run by Time to Change to help spread the word that you can talk about mental health at work. To mark this event there will be drop-in sessions as listed below where you’’ll find ideas and support on how to start the conversation and take time to talk to each other.  

Thursday 6th February 2020 drop-in sessions from 10.00 am until 10.45 am  

  • Ards Campus – Staff room on ground floor behind Reception Area
  • Ballynahinch Campus – HR Conference Suite
  • Bangor Campus -  ITS Team B30 and B31 room and outside U Eat                                          
  • Lisburn Campus - Pod in the Reception Area        

Thursday 6th February 2020 drop-in sessions from 12.15 am until 12:45 am 

  • Downpatrick Campus: Time to Walk and Talk – 30-minute walk to take time out with colleagues to talk about mental health  

Friday 7th February 2020 drop-in session from 10.00 am until 10.45 am

  • Downpatrick Campus – Staff room on the 5th Floor  

If you are not able to come along and you wish to speak to someone in confidence, please contact HR or a Mental Health First Aider.

Additional support is also available:  

SERC Employee Assistance Programme will be supported by Inspire Workplaces. SERC employees have access to a 24-hour telephone support line, number 0808 800 0002.  The helpline provides access to professional counsellors able to support any problem and if you need support beyond the phone call, with further discussion on your concern.  Inspire Wellbeing can provide more in-depth support with a designated counsellor, for financial or legal advice.
