Tell Your Students: Be One of 1000 Girls To Get Free Stem Work Experience This Term

Young people with STEM qualifications are in high demand and most STEM careers offer good long-term career prospects.

The STEM job market is vast and growing fast with plenty of opportunities to pursue a fulfilling career that pays well and has good options for career progression. Employers are especially keen to encourage more women into STEM careers, so now is the perfect time for students to consider their options for the future – whether it’s in ICT, agri-foods, fintech, engineering, or one of many other sectors offering exciting STEM careers!

Speakers for Schools (SfS) is working with some of Northern Ireland’s leading employers, to enable 1,000 female students aged 14-18 to secure work experience to learn more about STEM careers and pathways.

Students will need to create an account to book.

Student Application process:

• Students must be registered users on SfS's systems to apply for Insight Days and work experience opportunities.
• If new to SfS, students can sign up and register via this link: Student Portal (scroll down the page and you will come to register options for student, educator and employer)

For students with existing SfS accounts:

• To apply for any of the VWEX opportunities, students must sign into the Student Portal and enter original username and password (you can use the same link as above, and choose to login)
• Applicants will be redirected and informed that their account needs to be updated.
• An email will follow with a link to update their account (*please also check junk mail).
• Enter details as requested, create a new password and accept our Terms and Conditions.
• On completion, select ‘Update account Details’.
• Confirmation that their SfS account has been updated will be sent and access to the new portal will be complete!
