South Eastern Regional College (SERC) was delighted to host its Spring Fairs across Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards campuses recently.

The fairs offered staff, students and members of the public the opportunity to browse the range of exciting products on offer, and to support the student and staff companies at SERC.

Hosted by the College’s Enterprise Team, the markets allowed the College's enterprising students the opportunity to develop and enhance their business skills by setting up a stall to sell their own products and services.

This was a platform for students to gain real-life experience in creating products, working out costings and pricing, marketing their business, and dealing with customers face to face. There was also the bonus of bringing entrepreneurs together in one space which allowed for great networking and collaboration opportunities. The fairs were a great way for students to develop key transversal skills which will help them prepare for the world of work or self-employment.

If you missed the opportunity to visit the fairs this time round, don’t worry, SERC’s Enterprise Team host many fairs throughout the year, so be sure to check out the College’s events listings for updates on any future markets as well as all SERC events.
