Thanks to all staff in Lisburn and Downpatrick who recently met visitors from schools to help them plan their next steps in education.  These campus visits were a follow on from the On-site Insight events we held in autumn 2023.

A group of Year 14 pupils from Fort Hill Integrated College visited Lisburn Campus last Tuesday (16 January) to learn more about SERC’s HE pathways and the student support services available. After a presentation on HE courses and HLAs, the group toured the campus and got to hear from course teams about our curriculum areas, and to view the facilities.

On the following day (Wednesday 17 January), Year 12 pupils from Saintfield High School visited Downpatrick Campus to explore SERC’s FE courses and apprenticeships, to tour the facilities and hear from tutors, and to learn about life at SERC, including our support services.    On both days, the visiting pupils also dropped into the Refreshers’ Jobs & Careers Fair.

Teachers and pupils from both schools commented on how helpful their visit was in outlining the opportunities available to them following A-Levels or GCSEs.
