DHOS Colin Atkinson and CM Phillip McKelvey in Finland

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union

The Pajulahti Olympic and Paralympic Training Centre offers versatile active sports holidays for sports enthusiasts, and sport camps for elite athletes and teams. SERC Deputy Head of School Colin Atkinson and Curriculum Manager Phillip McKelvey visited the Training Centre to discuss the potential for Higher Education work placements and Further Education student exchanges. These collaborations would enrich SERC’s sport provision by offering a unique opportunity to learn from best practices in Finland.

Colin Atkinson commented, “Pajulahti is a very impressive centre, not just for elite athletes, but also from an academic point of view and their modern curriculum offering. The best practice visit allowed us to explore exciting collaborations for future student work placements and exchanges that will improve their technical competence and employability or T-Skills.”
