SERC Recognise Local Businesses with Excellence Award

SERC has recognised eleven local employers in their annual Business Excellence Awards for supporting education and employability.

William Greer, Chief Training and Contracts Officer at SERC said, “SERC is the most successful college in Northern Ireland. Our contribution to shaping the workforce of the future and ensuring people update and develop their skills is second to none.  Our innovative, employer-led approach creates better skills, better jobs, better economy and ultimately, better lives for the people of Northern Ireland.

He added “We are proud to work with over 7000 employers and businesses across the country.  Our Business Excellence Awards recognise just some of our partner employers’ commitment to the education and training process and to continuous investment in skills development of their staff and we congratulate them and wish them continued success.”

Chris Irvine, Owner of Chris Irvine Engineering, Bangor, who received a Student Placement Provider Business Excellence Award  said, “We are delighted to received this Award from SERC in recognition as a Student Placement Provider.  It is vitally important that young people, whilst they are studying, have access to good placements with local organisations such as Chris Irvine Engineering.   This gives them the opportunity to see what the workplace is really like and for employers, like myself, to see the pool of talent available.”
