The finalist teams will be going head-to-head using media such as PowerPoint, flip charts or a practical demonstration, to pitch their ideas to the judges in a Dragons’ Den style final. The winning team will need to demonstrate how their idea is innovative, creative and shows strong teamwork. The viability of the business idea will also be taken into consideration. The prizes up for grabs include Lenovo Tablets, wireless earphones and One for All vouchers!

The first phase of the Enterprise Challenge took place during the two-week induction, with internal and external judges voting and deciding who got through to the final. The Enterprise team also shortlisted projects based on their pitches and their student portal. The nine finalists have been working to adapt, tweak and perfect their concepts. The following talented groups have made it through to the finals:

  • Not a Pot
  • Pops and Tots
  • Gas Sensor
  • Anti-Spike
  • Post Sorter 9000
  • Nicotine Nemesis
  • Three Amigos
  • Eight Hairy Legs
  • WtT – Health and Social Care Board Game

Although only nine groups could be picked, the SERC Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and Environment team want to congratulate all entrants for their enthusiasm and hard work that were clearly displayed in all the projects and presentations submitted.

The judges on the panel for this year are:

  • Matt Gillespie – Urban Excel
  • Nancy Brown – Ulster University
  • Robert Ferguson – Four Gears Media

The live Dragons’ Den final will be streamed from Central Hall in SERC Bangor Campus on 26th October from 10:40am until 2:30pm.
