SERC Lecturer Tanya Hedley appointed Chair of Sentinus

SERC part time lecturer Tanya Hedley, who supports a woman’s mentoring programme, has recently been appointed Chair of Sentinus.

Sentinus is an educational charity that works with more than 60,000 young people from schools and colleges across Northern Ireland each year, delivering programmes that promote engagement in STEM subjects and support the development of scientific and technological skills.

A board member at Sentinus for more than five years, Tanya is the Director of Networks at the Northern Ireland Utility Regulator, leading the team that regulates electricity, water, and gas networks in Northern Ireland. She is also a board member of CASE (Centre for Advanced Sustainable Energy) based at Queen's University Belfast.

With a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Tanya is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Member of the Institute of Directors and an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. 

Prior to joining the Utility Regulator, Tanya worked for over 19 years in NIE Networks in roles including Transmission Projects Manager and Environmental Manager. In her spare time, Tanya rows in the Skiffie coastal rowing class along with participating in other sports.
