SERC is hosting the Northern Ireland Fire Industry Forum training day at the College’s Professional Skills Centre, 17 Dundrod Road, Crumlin BT29 4SR on Wednesday 27 March 2019.

Stuart Rankin, Deputy Head of School for Construction, Engineering Services and Skills for Work at SERC said, “We are delighted to be hosting the Northern Ireland Fire Industry Forum at this specialist training day in partnership with AICO and the Construction Industry Training Board which will be opened by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Alderman William Leathem.

The morning session is open to students studying on a range of construction programmes.   They will have the opportunity to take part in several training sessions which will cover Core Module, Part 6 and an Alarm Challenge.   This gives them the opportunity to upskill to industry standards and consolidate learning from the classroom.

He added, “The afternoon session is open to people working in the industry. They will have the opportunity to visit the AICO mobile unit. AICO is an acknowledged market leader in residential fire safety products including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.   This is followed by a Continuing Professional Development session on Core Module and BS5839 Part 6 Revision.   This is a great opportunity for anyone working in the industry to gain valuable professional development, network with people in the industry and share best practice and gain the latest insight from the industry.”

Students from SERCs School of Hospitality & Catering will also be hosting their Food Truck at the event.
