SERC Staff at the CIPD NI Awards 2022

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is an association for Human Resource Management Professionals that work across the UK. The 10th Awards Ceremony, which took place on Thursday 6th October at Titanic Belfast, recognised and celebrated the contribution of HR and People Management to the success of public and private sector organisations in Northern Ireland. Through a judging process, the awards identified individuals, organisations and practices that are championing better work and working lives.

SERC was highly commended for their ‘Best Health and Wellbeing Initiative’ category entry, for the College’s dedication to furthering the betterment of mental health for staff and students. This initiative includes the promotion of healthy working environments, the provision of information, support services, and raising the awareness of mental wellbeing amongst staff and students, as well as providing training to managers to ensure they are equipped to support employees. All of this and more is embedded within SERC’s Mind Yourself Campaign - an initiative led by SERC, in partnership with Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke (NICHS) to raise awareness and to promote workplace health and wellbeing.

Emma Carson, SERC Human Resources Services Manager, commented “We are delighted to have been highly commended by the CIPD NI for the Best Health and Well-being Initiative. This is a welcome recognition of the focus and investment we have placed on employee health & well-being and reducing the stigma around mental health. We will continue to seek innovative and impactful approaches to support and respond to the continuing needs to our staff and students.”
