A SERC student is in top form as he gets ready for the Ulster Schools Track and Field Championships at the Mary Peters Track on Saturday 18 May.
Loxley Harris, (17) from Lisburn, is currently completing the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sport at the College’s Lisburn Campus. The young man who has been running for several years said, “I got into running when my parents signed me up with a running club and I just stuck with it. I currently run for City of Lisburn Athletics Club.”
Loxley recently secured gold recently in both the 200m and 100m District B Track and Field Championships. Asked about his training regime for the upcoming Championships, he said, “I have just been doing the normal training I do every week. I am expecting to do well as I have put the training in and have been on good form.”
The focussed and ambitious young man has plans to further his education and his sport. He said, “After I complete my course at SERC I want to go to the United States on an athletics scholarship.”
We wish Loxley all the best for the Championships on 18 May.
