Here at SERC we are keen to promote internal colleagues to allow staff the opportunity to get to know each other and put a face to the name, particularly due to the size and scope of SERC. With this in mind, “Meet your Colleagues” is a fun Q and A exercise to help raise awareness of people’s roles within SERC and allows you to get to know more about your fellow colleagues.
This week’s “Meet your Colleagues” features Rachel Innes. Rachel is one of the Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Interns at SERC.
SERC’s Intern Academy is a year-long internship which will provide interns with an opportunity to gain invaluable work experience within the industry.
What does your role at SERC involve?
My role is to work alongside the team to help develop the 3E’s- Enterprise, Entrepreneurship and the Environment! We plan to help grow the number of student companies both in size and in quality across the SERC Campuses and develop and grow the Entrepreneurs Club further through support and encouragement of PBL Learning. We are also working to ensure we as a college continue our ‘green’ journey through our eco committees and eco shop.
Tell us a bit about your background?
I have a background in Food Science, with a degree in Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition. Last year, I completed the Entry to Management programme with SERC where I gained experience within a Business growth consultancy. Before university I have worked within retail and HR.
