Lisburn’s 98FM is one of SERC’s three radio stations and is here to offer you media and volunteering opportunities.
Volunteers who are already involved with the station are broadcasting in a transmitter area of around 120,000 people and are also heard online around the world via our live streaming service.
This year, we are offering you radio presenter training. This is not just about playing music - you’ll receive editing training, live desk training and interview training.
If you are interested in learning more, please get in touch with me and I will arrange a time with you to have a quick chat about what you’d like to do and any experience you have. Training and live shows will take place between 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 12pm on Fridays. Your initial training will only be one-hour sessions over a few weeks. From then on, we'd expect you to volunteer at the station for at least one hour a week. You cannot take part in training at Lisburn’s 98FM if it clashes with a timetabled class!
Please be aware that a waiting list will be created and not everyone will be able to start their training immediately.
