Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted to announce that the highly successful ‘Made in Lisburn Castlereagh’ showcase event will return this year to Lagan Valley LeisurePlex on Wednesday 24th October from 10am to 3pm.

This one-day event is a great opportunity for local businesses, residents, schools, higher education students and budding entrepreneurs to see first-hand the innovative products produced across the Lisburn Castlereagh area and there will also be an opportunity to discover jobs and apprenticeships on offer.

Speaking at the launch, Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Development Committee said: “We are delighted that so many of our leading businesses have already confirmed their participation at ‘Made in Lisburn Castlereagh’ including Leckey, Smiley Monroe, KME Steelworks, Creative Composites, Decora Blinds and Assa Abloy Security Doors.  Nowhere else will you get so many quality companies as well as recruitment companies and training providers under one roof, so this event is one not to be missed! With thirty-five plus exhibitors taking part this event will appeal to anyone interested in developing their career or just getting the inspiration they need to move forward.”

“We want as many people as possible to come along to our event on the 24th October, learn what our local business base is all about and possibly carve out a career path or even secure employment.  As a Council we are keen to support our local businesses and increase the workforce of our local economy.  This event is a fantastic platform for the businesses to raise their profile for the benefit of everyone.”

Tim Monroe, Marketing Director at conveyor belt manufacturer Smiley Monroe said: “As a growing business, recruitment is a constant challenge. Made in Lisburn Castlereagh is a great opportunity to share our culture and values with the local community and highlight Smiley Monroe as a company with global career opportunities within a number of roles.”

The ‘Made in Lisburn Castlereagh’ event is part of a wider programme of investment promotion highlighting Lisburn Castlereagh as Northern Ireland’s premier investment location and promoting the growth of the local economy through skills and employment.
