SERC Student Engagement Team is hosting an event celebrating International Women's Day on Tuesday 10th March in Lisburn Sports Hall (9:30am to 3:00pm).

Staff and students have the opportunity to book in for several workshops including: Women in Enterprise, Women in Leadership and Wellbeing for Women.

Anna Leahy, SERC Student Engagement Team, commented, "We are hosting this International Women's Day event with the aim of inspiring, motivating, connecting and celebrating the young women in SERC. We will hosting workshops exploring the role of women in enterprise and leaderships, barriers that women face in these roles, how we can support women day-to-day and how to develop our personal and professional skills. These workshops will focus on women but anyone who is interested in learning more about these issues is welcome to attend! Ulidia Taekwondo will also be hosting a practical taster session on Taekwondo and Self Defence skills for women.

SERC Student's Union and Student Engagement Team feel that it is important to use this internationally recognised day as an opportunity to inspire and motivate the young women of our college to celebrate their achievements, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality. We hope the impact of this event will encourage more of our student body to engage in opportunities such as the Student's Union, Enterprise Club and other initiatives across the college."
