Students and staff from around the world, including ESOL classes and their tutors, enjoyed a social meet-up and information session at SERC Bangor and Lisburn Campuses on Wednesday 20 November, to celebrate International Students’ Day.
Around 30 students across the two venues joined online for the launch of the SERC Equality and Good Relations resource. Roger Duncan, Lisburn Campus Manager and Head of Welfare and Pastoral Care, told guests that the new series of interactive lessons will be available to all students soon, and that content has been created in consultation with the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
Over refreshments, staff from the international team told students about the strong global relationships forged between SERC and many other education bodies and institutions around the world.
The event was a celebration of the international dimension of SERC and was also designed to be the foundation for creating a network of international students for future mutual support and social activity.
