International Men’s Day takes place on the 19th November each year. This day offers the opportunity for everyone to celebrate the important contribution that men and boys make to their families, friends, communities, workplaces, society and the world. However, it is also a time to highlight some of the key issues facing males, and to provide practical support and positive encouragement to overcome these.
Students’ Union and Mind Yourself came together in November to raise awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer and men’s suicide and a Movember team has been created to raise money for everyone to get involved by either growing moustaches, or challenging yourself walking or running, for more information, click here

HSE Health and Wellbeing, supported by the Men’s Health Forum in Ireland and the Centre for Men’s health in IT Carlow have organised a webinar which explores the impact of COVID-19 upon the health and wellbeing of men and boys, “Men’s Mental Health in these Challenging Times”. The session will look at issues such as older men and young men: farming and will include a mix of presentations, personal experiences and discussions.
On the 19th of November the session will commence at 11.00 am and you must register in advance and to access via zoom, click here
