SERC are hosting a Higher Level Apprenticeship Showcase event for employers at their Lisburn Campus, Castle Street, Lisburn BT20 4TD 2pm – 4pm on Thursday 7 March 2019.
Victoria Boyd, Training Programme Manager at SERC said, “Our showcase has been specially designed to show local employers the benefits of the Higher Level Apprenticeship programme. Essentially, this is a partnership between the Apprentice, the Employer and SERC, which offers quality training combined with employment. Employers are welcome to find out about the full range of programmes on offer, tour the College facilities and enjoy a Q&A session with our team to learn how a Higher Level Apprentice could benefit their business.
She added, “Higher Level Apprentices can be existing or new employees and the programme is fully funded by the Department for the Economy. The Apprentice is gaining on-the-job experience along side a qualification which is relevant to their work in the organisation – this could be in, for example, Accounting, Computing, Advanced Engineering, Health and Social Care, Gas Management or Automotive Management, Surveying and Construction and the Built Environment as well as many others. Duration depends on the programme but will be a minimum of two years during which time the apprentice will be in paid employment working towards the Level 4 or Level 5 qualification.
She continued, “We are passionate about the Higher Level Apprenticeship programme which we believe provides fantastic opportunities for both apprentices, employers and SERC. We have strong links with local businesses, programmes such as HLAs allow us to continue to deliver industry focused curriculum and training to meet current and future demands of the economy.”
Employers are invited to book their place by calling David on 07500947724 or email apprenticeships@serc.ac.uk
