SERC has signed with The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) for their Healthy Eating Week which last for seven days and will run from 28 September to 4 October 2020 and the aim is to bring the UK together to focus on key health message and promoting healthy habits.

The BNF Healthy Eating initiative has been welcomed by the College to raise awareness and to get everyone involved and improve their health and wellbeing.

There is a set health challenge for each day during BNF Healthy Eating week, which consists of:

  • Eat more wholegrains (Monday)
  • Vary your veg (Tuesday)
  • Drink plenty (Wednesday)
  • Move more (Thursday)
  • Be mind kind (Friday)
  • Get active together (Saturday)
  • Eat together (Sunday)

The Get active together and Eat together challenges are intended to highlight the importance of undertaking activities together. During and after lockdown, social distancing rules will need to be applied depending on personal and local circumstances. For example, at the present time, a family unit could be active together (once during the day, e.g. walking), and eat and enjoy food together at home.

A full outline of the challenge and daily challenges will be on the Staff Intranet.
