Culture Night Belfast Online 2020

This year Culture Night Belfast is going totally online! Streaming across a number of virtual platforms, Culture Night Online 2020 will offer a core online programme which includes a rich mix of music, film, performance and more. As well as an online showcase of local homegrown talent from across the city. The core programme, which is supported this year by Belfast City Council and Arts Council NI, will also include a specially commissioned piece by filmmaker Will McConnell called We’re Still Here, two documentaries from Trocaire and the premiere of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission’s film It Seems along with a discussion chaired by NIHRC Chief Commissioner, Les Allamby. Living the Green Way 2020

A weeklong programme of events and activities called ‘Living the Green Way’ will take place on Connswater Community Greenway, encouraging people to live ‘greener and healthier lifestyles’ from 12 to 19 September. The programme of activities will take place online and offline. The offline events will take place in different venues along the Connswater Community Greenway with a highlight being an Urban Market on 12 September at CS Lewis Square. Like many others it has been an unprecedented year for the Connswater Community Greenway, and while the spring/summer season would normally be buzzing with events and activities the team behind the Greenway are pleased that it has remained open and accessible during this time for all to enjoy and explore. Steam Saturdays

Whitehead Railway Museum is delighted to announce the welcome return of Steam Saturdays for the month of September. Come down to the picturesque seaside town of Whitehead to experience a short steam train ride. Hauled by a 101 year-old Guinness engine and sitting in a carriage which a certain famous wizard would feel at home in, you will be transported to a bygone era. This is an experience like none other provided on the island of Ireland. While you are on site, why not have a tour of the Whitehead Railway Museum and a bite to eat in the cafe.
