Former SERC student Phillip Sacramento is fast becoming a well-known voice-over artist, after he recently recorded television adverts for big companies.  Phillip, who completed his HND in Performing Arts at SERC last year, has been doing voice-over work for over a decade but recently he has seen more opportunities come his way.

Philip said “Over my career, my body of work has included videogames, animations, commercials, audiobooks and, of course radio, and I'm very fortunate to have worked with clients including the BBC, Lidl, NI Water, Autoline, Forteller Games and The Animation Workshop.”

Phillip’s radio presenting career began in September 2018, when he visited the Bangor FM studio during Freshers’ Week.  “Presenting on the station has been really valuable to my career. Not only have I learned so many new skills – not least of all with operating a live radio desk – but also through the live interviews I have conducted on-air.

"My time studying Performing Arts at SERC was also invaluable to me; providing the confidence and nurturing I needed to develop my skills further and expand them into a thriving career, for which I am deeply grateful."

Before the Covid-19 lockdown, Phillip presented Bangor Live on Monday afternoons. Since the lockdown began, he is now broadcasting from home and can be heard every Monday between 3pm-4pm. You can listen on 107.9FM in Bangor or online – just search for Bangor FM. The station is still broadcasting 24 hours a day during the lockdown and its main presenter-led shows are between 3pm-5pm, Monday to Thursday and 1pm-3pm on Fridays.
